Boat Fix Brings Real-Time Visibility and Control to the Recreational Marine Industry
Boat Fix leads the industry with 24/7 boat monitoring solutions for manufacturers, rental operators, and insurance providers. Its connected devices deliver real-time insights into a vessel’s location and condition, while sending proactive alerts to help keep both boats and boaters safe.
Boat Fix combines telematics, cellular connectivity, and real-time alerts to realize safe, secure, stress-free boating.

Whizz supports independent delivery contractors to get access to expensive equipment needed for work when traditional financing is not an option.
The Challenge
While the automotive industry has fully embraced real-time telematics, most recreational boats remain offline. Today, only 5% of vessels are wirelessly connected, even though the technology is readily available and boats are often one of the most valuable assets a owners possess.
Boat Fix identified a clear opportunity to improve the boating experience by delivering real-time insights into the state and location of vessels. Aiming for improving the boating experience for owners through the use of technology, whether they are onboard or hundreds of miles away.
The Solution
Boat Fix partnered with Monogoto to embed secure, programmable cellular connectivity into its telematics platform. Using Monogoto’s cloud-native infrastructure, Boat Fix gained full control over SIM provisioning, monitoring, and management.
“When we put a SIM card in a boat, we never see that device again. And there are thousands of them out there,” says Steve Pitsos, CEO of Boat Fix. “That means everything has to just work.”
The solution provides owners with live visibility into their boat’s condition, including battery status, bilge pump activity, and GPS location. In addition, Boat Fix sends proactive alerts when storms are approaching or when vessels enter hazardous zones such as shallow waters.
The Results
For rental and charter companies, real-time data helps prevent boats from entering restricted or unsafe areas, and enables timely docking assistance when customers return to shore. Insurance providers benefit by reducing avoidable claims and gaining access to reliable data when incidents occur. In the case of a named storm, real-time alerts allow boat operators to act quickly before major damage happens.
Boat manufacturers also gain valuable insights from onboard telematics. High-quality data about mechanical performance and user behavior allows them to improve designs and build more durable, customer-friendly boats.
